DBQ Quiz One – Wednesday, December 16th

     1. Men

  • Only men are considered citizens
  • Only men can take part in government
  • Men had to take part in government

     2. Women

  • Could not vote
  • Had influence
  • Stayed at home and did the household chores

      3. Children

  • Boys could own property
  • Boys went to school as well as learning military skills
  • Girls were trained to prepare to do household chores

  • Slaves could not vote

  • Slaves did not have the same value

 

DBQ Quiz Two – Monday, December 18th

  1. The Agora
  • Why was the Agora important? It was where people met to discuss politics.
  • What was another name for the Agora? It was also called the market.

2. The Boule

  • How were people chosen to be a part of the Boule and how many people were chosen? People were chosen by draw and 500 people were chosen.
  • What is another name for the Boule? It was also called the Council of Athens.

 3. The Assembly

  • How were people chosen to be part of the Assembly? All men that paid taxes (most men) took part in the Assembly.
  • How was decision making done in Athens? First they voted on issues in the Boule, then sent it to the Assembly to be voted on.
